Riverside garden in Clyde Valley
This garden was formed in two parts and on two levels & contained a problematic area to the side and rear of the house where a steep bank led down to a small river. This area was overgrown, shaded by mature trees and had no proper access from the main garden other than a single flight of wooden steps leading down from the deck.
The brief was to improve access and to make the area more attractive when viewed from the upper garden. The solution involved a major clear out and the building of a new gravel footpath through the area to a new flight of steps linking the area with the upper garden. Extensive new planting of trees and mainly shade-loving shrubs along the sides of the path and on the banks followed this to enhance the woodland feel of the site.
